Guitar DI is a sample based software instrument for NI Kontakt (5.41+), SFZ, Decent Sampler and also in plain wav format.


Guitar DI is made by multisampling electric guitar and it is made for sound design. It is completely "dry" and therefore must be processed by virtual or real amp!

It is made that way for the versatility of use: from ambient to distorted tones, other processed guitar virtual instruments don't leave much room for such manipulation.


Must note, the Guitar DI isn't meant to replace your go-to virtual instrument for guitar sounds (although it might in some cases) because it doesn't offer articulations like palm muting, harmonics etc. It's a starting point for sound design.

You can turn it into pluck using the amp envelope, make it swell, combine it with reversed variations etc. All patches are like "init" patches and the user can use them as a starting point.

Guitar DI is a library/instrument in the following formats:


• Kontakt v5.4.1 and up, full version - (not Kontakt Player version!)

[Main patch, Reversed and Reversed-comp. Also Kontakt multi with all 3 in the combination. + Lite versions which are lighter on OS resources.]


• SFZ - Sforzando is a free sfz sample player that works best with the instrument

[Main patch, Reversed and Reversed-comp. + Lite versions which are lighter on OS resources and also "no RR" versions for a wider compatibility.]


• Decent Sampler

[Guitar DI all mix (all 3 in the same patch), Main patch, Reversed and Reversed-comp.]


• Wav samples for any sampler. (240 for each of the 3 versions - 720)

The simple naming scheme explained in the manual.

Note: some hardware samplers might require converting format to 16 bit etc, refer to your hardware manual.


The library/instrument, in all formats, is available in 24 bit 44.1KHz and in 96KHz.


Guitar DI has 5 round-robins and 3 velocity layers for each round robin version.
